Foundation Day Of Congress Party- 2023
(Foundation Day Of Congress Party- 2023) The Indian National Congress was born on December 28, 1885. Allan Octavian Hume, a British civil servant in collaboration with Dadabhai Naoroji and Dinshaw Wacha initiated it. INA: This was the same day that saw the first session of INC conducted up to 31st December in Bombay. The Indian National Congress is known today as the Congress Party.
One of its two main political parties in India. Congress served as a political organization in India after independence in 1947. In general, it is true that the Congress has won an absolute majority in 6 elections, and led the alliance in four out of seventeen Lok Sabha elections since Indian Independence up to the year 2019.
Indian National Congress – establishment and objectives
Dadabhai Naoroji, Firozshah Mehta, Kashinatha Tailang, and N.G. Chandravarkar Adi were among the early members of the Indian National Congress. At last, the hot party and moderate party had been established by the year 1907. At one point, they were trying for the independence of India but they went about it differently.
Seventy-two representatives came from all Indian provinces during the first Congress session. Among them were 54 Hindus, two Muslim members, and a majority of others belonging to Jains and Parsis.
The First Session of Congress in India had Vyomesh Chandra Banerjee as the President.
The first session of the party was attended by Dadabhai Naoroji, Dinshaw Wacha, William Wedderburn, Firozshah Mehta, and others.
The INC was originally liberal and confined itself to non-violent methods. Moreover, its demand was limited to the inclusion of more Indians in the civil as well as military services. He never talked about independence.
The first meeting of Congress was to be held in Poona (now Pune). However, due to the cholera outbreak, the event was shifted to Bombay (now Mumbai).
Congress established the Moderates and the Extremists as two political parties in 1907:- Bal Gangadhar Tilak, Lala Lajpat Rai, and Bipin Chandra Pal (also called Lal-Bal-Pal) were the leaders of the extremist group.
Dadabhai Naoroji, Firoz Shah Mehta, and Gopal Krishna Gokhale led the moderate party.
The radical group advocated total independence, while the moderate group sought self-rule inside the British Raj.
