26th Meeting of Group of Ministers on COVID-19

Recently Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Dr. Harsh Vardhan has chaired the 26th meeting of the Group of Ministers on COVID-19. It was informed at the 26th GOM meeting that the CoWIN platform — the government has developed a website for registration and booking of vaccine appointments — will soon be available at cowin.gov.in in Hindi and 14 other regional languages.

हाल ही में केंद्रीय स्वास्थ्य और परिवार कल्याण मंत्री, डॉ हर्षवर्धन (Dr Harsh Vardhan) ने COVID-19 पर मंत्री समूह की 26वीं बैठक की अध्यक्षता में संपन्न की गयी है। इस 26वीं जीओएम बैठक में सूचित किया गया कि CoWIN प्लेटफॉर्म- सरकार ने वैक्सीन अपॉइंटमेंट के पंजीकरण और बुकिंग के लिए एक वेबसाइट विकसित की है- जिसे जल्द ही हिंदी और 14 अन्य क्षेत्रीय भाषाओं में उपलब्ध ये cowin.gov.in होगी।

Key results of the meeting:

• About seventeen other laboratories will be added to the INSACOG (Indian SARS CoV-2 Genomics Consortium) network.
• These laboratories are being added to monitor COVID-19 variants. Currently, there are ten laboratories in this network.
• The production of amphotericin-B has to be increased for the treatment of Kovid-19 black fungal infection called mucormycosis.
