WHO classified the Indian Coronavirus version as “Global Variant of Concern”
Recently, the World Health Organization has classified a coronavirus variant found in India as a global “variant of concern”. This variant is named B.1.617. According to the World Health Organization, this variant has already spread to more than 30 countries. It is more transmissible than other variants. This variant is also called the “double mutant variant”. It was first identified by the health authorities of the United Kingdom.
About B.1.617 variant:
- The B.1.617 variant is the fourth variant of the coronavirus classified by the WHO. It has two mutations, called E484Q and L452R.
- Viruses change themselves to form one or more variants, viruses change themselves so that they can live with humans.
- Scientists around the world are still studying the vaccine’s effectiveness against the B.1.617 variant.

हाल ही में विश्व स्वास्थ्य संगठन ने भारत में पाए जाने वाले एक कोरोनावायरस वैरिएंट को वैश्विक “वैरिएंट ऑफ़ कंसर्न (variant of concern)” के रूप में वर्गीकृत किया गया है। इस वैरिएंट को B.1.617 नाम दिया गया है। विश्व स्वास्थ्य संगठन के अनुसार, यह वैरिएंट पहले से ही 30 से अधिक देशों में फैल चुका है। यह अन्य वैरिएंट की तुलना में अधिक ट्रांसमिसिबल है। इस वैरिएंट को “डबल म्यूटेंट वैरिएंट (double mutant variant)” भी कहा जाता है। यह पहली बार यूनाइटेड किंगडम के स्वास्थ्य अधिकारियों द्वारा पहचाना गया था।
B.1.617 वैरिएंट के बारे में:
- B.1.617 वैरिएंट WHO द्वारा वर्गीकृत कोरोनावायरस का चौथा वैरिएंट है। इसके दो उत्परिवर्तन हैं, जिन्हें E484Q और L452R कहा जाता है।
- वायरस स्वयं को परिवर्तित करके एक या अधिक वैरिएंट बनाते हैं, वायरस खुद को बदलते हैं ताकि वे इंसानों के साथ रह सकें।
- दुनिया भर के वैज्ञानिक अभी भी B.1.617 वैरिएंट के खिलाफ टीके की प्रभावशीलता का अध्ययन कर रहे हैं।
