To promote the domestic defence industry, the DRDO has allowed private sector firms to both develop and produce missile systems such as vertical launched surface to air missile systems programme.

The Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) allowed private sector companies to develop and produce missile systems for the purpose of promoting the domestic defence industry. Now private sector firms will be allowed to develop and produce missile systems.
Under this scheme, the All-Weather Air Defense Missile System will be developed to provide defence against various air targets such as jets, fighter aircraft, unmanned aircraft. DRDO helped private sector industries including Tata and Baba Kalyani to develop ATAGS howitzers.
DRDO has issued earnest money stating that under the Development cum Production Partner (DCPP) program, we have allowed the private sector to develop and produce missile systems with us. Private sector companies have shown enthusiasm for participation.
According to the DRDO, ground-to-air missiles will be developed under the initial program. With this, India will also join those selected countries. Who will have a big market for missiles?

(डीआरडीओ ने बयाना जारी कर बताया है कि डेवलपमेंट कम प्रोडक्शन पार्टनर (डीसीपीपी) कार्यक्रम के तहत हमने निजी क्षेत्र को हमारे साथ मिसाइल सिस्टम विकसित करने और उनका उत्पादन करने की अनुमति दी है| निजी क्षेत्र की कंपनियों ने भागीदारी के लिए उत्साह दिखाया है|)
