 The second phase of the budget session of Parliament has started on Monday 8 March. During this period, the proceedings of Rajya Sabha will be from 9 am to 2 pm and the proceedings of Lok Sabha will be from 4 to 10 pm.

The second phase of the budget session of Parliament has started on Monday 8 March. At the beginning of the House, the opposition raised the issue of rising prices of petrol and diesel and demanded a discussion on it. But the Chairman did not approve, after which the opposition started an uproar and started shouting slogans against the government.

In the Rajya Sabha, Leader of Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge demanded a postponement of zero hours to discuss the rising prices of petrol and diesel, saying that the price of petrol has reached Rs 100 and the price of diesel has reached 90. The government has earned Rs 21 lakh crore through excise duty and cess. This is the reason that today the farmer and the whole country is struggling with inflation.

The second phase of the budget session of Parliament will run from Monday 8 March to 8 April. Though voting is to be held for the assembly elections in Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Kerala, Assam and Puducherry from 27 March to 29 April, it is being considered to cut this part of the session. The first phase of the budget session of Parliament ran from 29 January to 28 February.

Trinamool Congress floor leader Sudeep Bandopadhyay in the Lok Sabha and Derek O’Brien, the leader of the party in the Rajya Sabha, has demanded the cancellation of the parliament session in view of the assembly elections to be held in 5 states. For this, he has written a letter to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla and Rajya Sabha Speaker Venkaiah Naidu.

During the discussion on International Women’s Day in Rajya Sabha, Shiv Sena MP Priyanka Chaturvedi said that 24 years ago we had targeted to increase the participation of women in Parliament and Legislatures to 33%. Which should now be increased to 50%. When we are 50% of the population, our representation should be so.

Congress has proposed a stay in the Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha regarding the rising prices of petrol and diesel and has demanded a discussion on the rising prices of petrol and diesel.
