International Women’s Day, celebrated each year on March 8, throws the spotlight on women and their rights.
International Women’s Day is celebrated globally on 8 March every year with the aim of bringing women’s contribution, respect and rights to the world and to make women aware.
International Women’s Day began in 1909. It is celebrated every year since then. But for the first time in 1921, Women’s Day was celebrated on 8 March.
Its main objective is to give women equal rights in society. On this occasion, women are honoured by organizing many cultural programs around the world.
International Women’s Day was first celebrated in the year 1996 and at that time the theme of ‘Celebration of the past, plan of the future’ was laid by the United Nations. This year the theme of 2021 is “Women in leadership: an equal future in a COVID-19 world.“
(महिलाओं के योगदान, सम्मान और अधिकारों को दुनिया के सामने लाने और महिलायों को जागरूक करने के उद्देश्य से प्रति वर्ष 8 मार्च को विश्व स्तर पर अंतरराष्ट्रीय महिला दिवस मनाया जाता है।)
(अंतरराष्ट्रीय महिला दिवस की शुरुआत सन् 1909 से हुई थी। इसके बाद से प्रति वर्ष मनाया जाता है। परंतु 1921 में पहली बार 8 मार्च के दिन महिला दिवस मनाया गया था। )
(इसका मुख्य उद्देश्य महिलाओं को समाज में समान अधिकार दिलाना है। इस मौके पर दुनियाभर में कई सांस्कृतिक कार्यक्रम का आयोजन कर महिलाओं को सम्मानित किया जाता है।)
(पहली बार अंतरराष्ट्रीय महिला दिवस थीम के साथ साल 1996 में मनाया गया था और उस वक्त ‘अतीत का जश्न, भविष्य की योजना’ की थीम संयुक्त राष्ट्र ने रखी थी। इस साल 2021 की थीम “Women in leadership: an equal future in a COVID-19 world” यानी “महिला नेतृत्व: COVID-19 की दुनिया में एक समान भविष्य को प्राप्त करना” रखी गई है।)
