National Girl Child Day(राष्ट्रीय बालिका दिवस): 24 January
The National Girl Child Day is celebrated in India every year on January 24. It was started by the Ministry of Women and Child Development and the Government of India in 2008, with the purpose to spread awareness among people about all the inequalities girls face in the Indian society.
National Girl Child Day provides new opportunities to girls in the country. It is celebrated to raise awareness among the people about the inequality of girls in society like discrimination, exploitation.
This disparity can be in the context of education, nutrition, legal rights, medical care, protection, child marriage, freedom etc. This step of the Government of India behind celebrating National Girl Child Day is to promote the importance of girls.
