National Youth Day: 12 January

Swami Vivekananda’s birth anniversary is celebrated every year on 12 January as National Youth Day in India. This day was announced by the Government of India in the year 1984 and it was first celebrated in 1985.

The main purpose of celebrating this day is to encourage students across the country to learn about Swami Vivekananda’s life, thoughts and philosophy and apply them in their lives.

This year, in 2021, the 158th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda is being celebrated. The theme of National Youth Day 2021 is ‘Channelizing Youth Power for Nation Building’.

Swami Vivekananda founded Ramakrishna Math and Mission on 1 May 1897 and Belur Math was established in 1898.

(प्रति वर्ष 12 जनवरी को स्वामी विवेकानंद की जयंती को भारत में राष्ट्रीय युवा दिवस के रूप में मनाया जाता है। इस दिन को मनाए जाने की घोषणा वर्ष 1984 में भारत सरकार द्वारा की गई थी और इसे पहली पहली बार 1985 में मनाया गया था।)

(इस दिवस को मनाने का मुख्य उद्देश्य यह है कि देश भर के छात्रों को स्वामी विवेकानंद के जीवन, विचारों और दर्शन के बारे में जानने और उन्हें अपने जीवन में लागू करने के लिए प्रोत्साहित किया जा सके।)
