Recently Lieutenant General Harpal Singh has appointed a new engineer-in-chief of the Indian Army. He is currently the Director General of Border Roads Organization and will take charge for his new appointment on 1 December.

Recently Lieutenant General Harpal Singh has appointed a new engineer-in-chief of the Indian Army. He is currently the Director General of Border Roads Organization and will take charge for his new appointment on 1 December.


About Lieutenant General Harpal Singh:

Alumni Lieutenant General Harpal Singh of National Defense Academy, Khadakwasla was appointed to the Corps of Engineers on 24 December 1982. He later took over the command of the Border Roads, Task Force in the Jammu and Kashmir Valley. He has also been the Chief Engineer (Navy) in Bhutan, Mumbai, and Chief Engineer of Project Dantak (BRO) at the Chief Engineer Headquarters Eastern Command. Lieutenant General Harpal Singh is a graduate of Defense Services Staff College, Wellington, High Command and National Defense College courses.

Major General Rajiv Chaudhary has been appointed as the new Director General of Border Roads Organization. The BRO is responsible for the construction and maintenance of roads along the borders of China and Pakistan.
