Aung San Suu Kyi’s party wins Myanmar general elections
Myanmar’s ruling party led by Nobel laureate Aung San Suu Kyi won a resounding victory in the recently concluded Myanmar general elections. The National League for Democracy (NLD) party won a total of 400 seats, while the opposition party Union Solidarity and Development Party (USDP) won only 21 seats. The NLD must win at least 2/3 of the elected seats to win this election.
