India has moved down three places to 77th rank in terms of money parked by its citizens and enterprises with Swiss banks at the end of 2019, while the UK has retained its top position, as per the latest data from Switzerland’s central bank.

Swiss National Bank (SNB) has released its ‘Annual banking statistics, 2019’. According to the latest data by the SNB, India has slipped three places to 77th in terms of money deposited by its citizens. However, many neighboring countries are below India on this list. Among them, Pakistan is ranked 99th, Bangladesh 85th, Nepal 118th, Sri Lanka 148th, Myanmar 186th and Bhutan 196th.

In India-based branches, Switzerland-based banks account for about 0.06 percent of the total funds deposited by all foreign customers. While the UK holds the first place in this list with 27% of the total deposits.
