Jitendra Singh inaugurates Devika and Pooneja Bridge in Jammu and Kashmir

Union Minister Jitendra Singh has inaugurated two bridges in Udhampur and Doda districts of Jammu and Kashmir, Devika and Puneja respectively. The bridge over Devika River in Udhampur has been completed by Border Roads Organization Border Roads Organization (BRO) for fifteen months, while Poonja Bridge has also been constructed by Border Roads Organization (BRO) in 36 months.
The construction of the 10 meter long Devika Bridge will help in solving the traffic problem of the area as well as help in smooth movement of army convoys and vehicles. While the 50-meter-long Punja bridge is strategically very important from a defense point of view. 
The Basoli-Bani-Bhaderwah route is an important link connecting Pathankot (Punjab) to Doda, Kishtwar, Bhaderwah and Kashmir Valley without passing through Jammu and Udhampur. Doda is the only district in the country where not one but three big tunnels are being built.
