India’s oldest cricketer Vasant Raiji died at the age of 100. He was a right-handed batsman and played nine first-class games in the 1940s and scored 277 runs. He made his first appearance for Bombay in 1941 under the Vijay Merchant, against the Western Provinces, at Nagpur. The cricketer-historian was also a founding member of the Jolly Cricket Club in Mumbai. He pioneered the establishment of the Legends Club of the Cricket Club of India CCI during Raj Singh Dungarpur’s tenure as Chairman.
(भारत के सबसे वृद्ध  क्रिकेटर वसंत रायजी का 100 वर्ष की आयु में निधन हो गया। वह दाएं हाथ के बल्लेबाज थे और 1940 के दशक में नौ प्रथम श्रेणी के खेल खेले और 277 रन बनाए। उन्होंने 1941 में बॉम्बे के लिए अपनी पहली अपीयरेंस विजय मर्चेंट के तहत, पश्चिमी प्रांतों के खिलाफ, नागपुर में बनाई। क्रिकेटर-इतिहासकार भी मुंबई में जॉली क्रिकेट क्लब के संस्थापक सदस्य थे। उन्होंने अध्यक्ष के रूप में राज सिंह डूंगरपुर के कार्यकाल के दौरान क्रिकेट क्लब ऑफ इंडिया CCI के लीजेंड्स क्लब की स्थापना का बीड़ा उठाया था।)
