Russia hosts meeting of BRICS tax authorities

The meeting of the heads of tax authorities of BRICS was held on 29 May, which included the organization authorities of the countries of Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa. The meeting was hosted by the Federal Tax Service of Russia, which currently empowers BRICS tax authorities to discuss the response to the COVID-19 epidemic and explore potential areas of cooperation in tax matters.

(ब्रिक्स के टैक्स प्राधिकारियों के प्रमुखों की बैठक का आयोजन 29 मई को की गई, जिसमे  ब्राजील, रूस, भारत, चीन और दक्षिण अफ्रीका देशों के  संगठन प्राधिकारियों को शामिल किया गया। इस बैठक की मेजबानी फेडरल टैक्स सर्विस ऑफ़ रूस द्वारा की गई थी, जिसके पास वर्तमान में ब्रिक्स कर प्राधिकारियों को COVID-19 महामारी की प्रतिक्रिया पर चर्चा करने और कर मामलों में सहयोग के संभावित क्षेत्रों का पता लगाने का अधिकार है।)

It was previously scheduled to be held in Moscow, but was held via video conference, with COVID-19 in view. Finance Secretary Ajay Bhushan Pandey represented on behalf of India. The Finance Secretary underlined the need to ensure that the new tax rules are fair and simple, assuring India’s support for the ongoing work on the G20 project to deal with the tax challenges arising from digitalisation.

(पहले इसका आयोजन बैठक मास्को में किया जाना था, लेकिन COVID-19 के मध्यनजर रखते हुए, इसे वीडियो कॉन्फ्रेंस के माध्यम से आयोजित किया गया। भारत की ओर से वित्त सचिव अजय भूषण पांडे ने प्रतिनिधित्व किया। वित्त सचिव ने डिजिटलकरण के कारण पैदा हुईं कर चुनौतियों से निपटने के लिए जी-20 परियोजना पर चल रहे काम को भारत के समर्थन का आश्‍वासन देते हुए यह सुनिश्चित करने की आवश्यकता को रेखांकित किया कि नए कर नियम निष्पक्ष और सरल हैं।)
