JEE Mains Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for JEE Mains can be broken down into a few key points:

• Qualifying Exam: You must have passed the 10+2 exam (or equivalent) from a recognized board like CBSE, ISCE or any other state or central board.
• Minimum Marks: There is no minimum marks criteria for appearing in JEE Mains itself. However, if you want to get admission into NITs, IIITs and other Centrally Funded Technical Institutes (CFTIs) based on your JEE Main rank, you need to secure a minimum of 75% marks in your class 12 exam (or be among the top 20 percentile in your board). For SC/ST candidates, the minimum marks requirement is 65%.
• Number of Attempts: You can take JEE Mains a maximum of three consecutive times. This means you can appear for the exam in the year you pass your class 12 exam and the next two consecutive years.
