13th BRICS Summit: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will chair the 13th summit of the Group of Five BRICS (BRICS) today. The latest situation in Afghanistan is expected to be widely discussed in this meeting to be held digitally. According to the Foreign Ministry, Russian President Vladimir Putin, Chinese President Xi Jinping, South African President Cyril Ramaphosa and Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro will also attend the meeting.

BRICS: BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) comprises the five largest developing countries in the world, representing 41 percent of the global population, 24 percent of the global GDP and 16 percent of the global trade. The Ministry of External Affairs said in a statement that in 2021 under India’s chairmanship of BRICS, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will chair the 13th BRICS summit in digital format on 9 September.

Prime Minister Modi will chair the BRICS summit for the second time. Earlier he had presided over the conference in Goa in the year 2016. This year marks the 15th anniversary of BRICS. The theme of which is: ‘BRICS@15: Inter-BRICS Cooperation for Continuity, Consolidation and Consensus’.

India has outlined four priority areas for its presidency. These include reforming the multilateral system, countering terrorism, use of digital and technological tools to achieve the SDGs and promoting people-to-people contacts.

13th BRICS Summit: प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी आज पांच देशों के समूह ब्रिक्स (BRICS) के 13 वे शिखर सम्मेलन की अध्यक्षता करेंगे| डिजिटल तरीके से आयोजित होने वाली इस बैठक में अफगानिस्तान के ताजा हालात पर व्यापक रूप से चर्चा होने की उम्मीद है| विदेश मंत्रालय के मुताबिक, बैठक में रूसी राष्ट्रपति व्लादिमीर पुतिन, चीनी राष्ट्रपति शी जिनपिंग, दक्षिण अफ्रीका के राष्ट्रपति सिरिल रामफोसा और ब्राजील के राष्ट्रपति जेयर बोल्सोनारो भी शामिल होंगे|  

ब्रिक्स: ब्रिक्स (ब्राजील, रूस, भारत, चीन और दक्षिण अफ्रीका) में दुनिया के पांच सबसे बड़े विकासशील देश शामिल हैं, जो वैश्विक आबादी के 41 प्रतिशत, वैश्विक सकल घरेलू उत्पाद के 24 प्रतिशत और वैश्विक व्यापार के 16 प्रतिशत का प्रतिनिधित्व करते हैं| विदेश मंत्रालय ने एक बयान में कहा कि 2021 में ब्रिक्स की भारत की अध्यक्षता के तहत प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी 09 सितंबर को डिजिटल प्रारूप में 13वें ब्रिक्स शिखर सम्मेलन की अध्यक्षता करेंगे|

प्रधानमंत्री मोदी दूसरी बार ब्रिक्स सम्मेलन की अध्यक्षता करेंगे| इससे पहले उन्होंने साल 2016 में गोवा में सम्मेलन की अध्यक्षता की थी| इस साल ब्रिक्स की 15वीं वर्षगांठ है| जिसका विषय: ‘ब्रिक्स @15: निरंतरता, समेकन और आम सहमति की खातिर अंतर-ब्रिक्स सहयोग’ है| 

 

भारत ने अपनी अध्यक्षता के लिए प्राथमिकता वाले चार क्षेत्रों की रूपरेखा तैयार की है| जिसमें बहुपक्षीय प्रणाली में सुधार, आतंकवाद का मुकाबला, एसडीजी प्राप्त करने के लिए डिजिटल और तकनीकी औजारों का उपयोग और लोगों से लोगों के बीच संपर्क को बढ़ावा देना शामिल हैं|
