Next year’s 2022 AFC Women’s Asian Cup in India will be played at three venues in Maharashtra. At the same time, the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) confirmed this on Tuesday.
Recently, the Asian Football Confederation has decided to hold the Women’s Asian Cup in Mumbai and Pune, removing Bhubaneswar and Ahmedabad, to reduce travel time for participants and ensure an “optimal environment” for a bio-secure bubble.
Under this, Mumbai Football Arena in Andheri Sports Complex and Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex in Balewadi, Pune have been selected as new venues. This tournament will be played from 29 January to 6 February 2022.
The tournament will be held at three venues in Maharashtra, Mumbai Football Stadium in Andheri, DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai and Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex in Pune. Where earlier this tournament was scheduled to be held in Navi Mumbai in Maharashtra, Bhubaneswar in Odisha and Ahmedabad in Gujarat.
Welcoming the move, All India Football Federation President Praful Patel said, “We all had to adapt to the situation and keeping in mind the present times, there is a dire need for a bio bubble.”

(यह टूर्नामेंट महाराष्ट्र के तीन स्थानों, अंधेरी के मुंबई फुटबॉल स्टेडियम, नवी मुंबई के डीवाई पाटिल स्टेडियम और पुणे के श्री शिव छत्रपति स्पोर्ट्स कॉम्प्लेक्स शामिल है| जहां पहले ये टूर्नामेंट महाराष्ट्र के नवी मुंबई, ओडिशा के भुवनेश्वर और गुजरात के अहमदाबाद में होना तय हुआ था|)
