The Defense Ministry has tied up with Defense Public Sector Undertaking Company Bharat Dynamics Limited on 19 March.
Recently, the Ministry of Defense has signed a deal with Bharat Dynamics Limited on 19 March 2021 for the supply of 4,960 Milan-2T anti-tank guided missiles. This is going to increase the firepower of the Indian Army drastically.
These anti-tank-guided missiles will be handed over to the Indian Army. Which is worth Rs 1,188 crores. According to the Ministry of Defense, the Milan-2T is produced by BDL under license from a French defense firm. With the availability of 2T anti-tank guided missiles, the army’s needs will be met to a large extent. That range is more than two kilometers.
The Milan-2T is a man-portable (infantry) second-generation ATGM, used to destroy battle tanks fitted with explosive reactive armor, moving and stationary targets.
This deal will further promote the ‘Make in India’ initiative of the Modi government. The contract is a repeat order, which was signed with Bharat Dynamics Limited on 08 March 2016.
