Assam-Mizoram border dispute: Assam and Mizoram chief ministers hold talks after violent clash
Recently, the governments of Assam and Mizoram held talks with the central government on 18 October 2020 to discuss the situation after violent clashes along the state border. Many people were injured in this violent clash and the situation in the area is now under control. The incident took place on the border of Kolasib district of Mizoram and Cachar district of Assam.
(हाल ही मे, असम और मिजोरम की सरकारों ने राज्य की सीमा पर हिंसक झड़प के बाद स्थिति पर चर्चा करने के लिए 18 अक्टूबर 2020 को केंद्र सरकार से बातचीत की | इस हिंसक झड़प में कई लोग घायल हुये तथा इलाके में स्थिति अब नियंत्रण में है | ये घटना मिजोरम के कोलासिब जिले और असम के कछार जिले की सीमा पर घटी थी |)
The border dispute between the two states is very old, the Government of Mizoram has raised the demand for restructuring the border with Assam. Mizoram believes that the boundary between Assam and Mizoram should be divided on the basis of the notification of 1875, which was issued through the Bengal Eastern Frontier Regulation (BEFR) Act, 1873.
(दोनों राज्यों के बीच सीमा विवाद बहुत पुराना है, मिजोरम सरकार ने असम से लगी सीमा के पुनर्निधारण की मांग उठाई है | मिज़ोरम का मानना है कि असम और मिज़ोरम के बीच सीमा का विभाजन वर्ष 1875 की अधिसूचना के आधार पर किया जाना चाहिये, जो कि बंगाल ईस्टर्न फ्रंटियर रेगुलेशन (BEFR) अधिनियम, 1873 के माध्यम से जारी की गई थी |)
