The coronavirus-induced suspension of scheduled international passenger flights has been extended till April 30, Indian aviation regulator Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) said on Tuesday.
Recently, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation Office (DGCA) has banned all international flights till 30 April on 23 March 2021. In view of the growing case of Corona, the DGCA has once again extended the period of ban on international flight operations to 30 April 2021.
Due to increasing cases of corona, the lockdown has been created in many states of the country. The DGCA has decided to stop international flights in view of the increasingly increasing risk of corona infection.
In view of the new strains of Corona coming from abroad, a decision has been taken to ban the flights. According to media reports, more than 700 people in the country have been hit by the new strain of Corona.
India has signed the ‘Air Bubble’ agreement with 27 countries including the USA, UK, UAE, Kenya, Bhutan, and France. Under this ‘air bubble’ agreement between the two countries, special international flights will be operated by their airlines between their regions.
