Dharmendra Pradhan launches Indian Gas Exchange (IGX) platform
The Indian Gas Exchange (IGX) platform has been launched by Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. IGX is the first nationwide online delivery-based gas trading platform. The trading platform will enable market participants to trade in standardized gas contracts. IGX is a fully automated web-based interface, which will be able to provide a seamless trading experience to customers.

The new electronic trading platform launched mainly for natural gas is an example of the Center’s progressive policy. This will help the country take a step towards free market pricing of natural gas. IGX is incorporated as a wholly owned subsidiary of Indian Energy Exchange, which is India’s energy market platform.
