Recently formed a working group by the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India-IRDAI to conduct research and make recommendations on creating “Indian Pandemic Risk Pool” (Indian Epidemic Risk Pool). has gone.

This panel is tasked with exploring the possibility of addressing various risks posed by the COVID-19 epidemic with the help of an “epidemic risk pool”. These risks include business interruption losses without loss of concurrent material, loss of employment far exceeding the capacity of the government / insurers / reinsurers.
(इस पैनल को “महामारी जोखिम पूल” की मदद से COVID-19 महामारी से उत्पन्न विभिन्न जोखिमों को संबोधित करने की संभावना की तलाशने का काम सौंपा गया है। इन जोखिमों में समवर्ती सामग्री के नुकसान के बिना व्यावसायिक व्यवधान नुकसान, रोजगार के नुकसान से सरकार / बीमाकर्ताओं / पुनर्बीमाकर्ताओं की क्षमता से बहुत अधिक नुकसान शामिल हैं।)


Executive Director of Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority (IRDAI), Suresh Mathur will be the chairman of this 9-member working group. The members of the group are: Suchita Gupta, Hitesh Kotak, Ankur Nizhavan, Sushilendra Rao, Shilpa Yadav, MN Munshi, Ajay Kumar, and Saba Talukdar.

IRDAI has constituted the above working group with the following reference conditions:
  • Researching the need to establish an epidemic risk pool, and to justify its study.
  • Recommend size and operating model for the pool.
  • Examining all other matters related to this subject
