As preparations for the U-17 World Cup begin, Indonesia understands well the need for careful planning and implementation. According to DevajitSaikia, secretary of the Assam Cricket Association (ACA), the transparent way the tickets were offered has further boosted the excitement among cricket enthusiasts. 

“A packed house is anticipated. A total of 38,000 seats were available, and 21,200 of those were open to the general public. Tickets were sold online in two stages. In no time, all of the tickets were sold “he stated. 

The district organizations also made another 12,000 tickets accessible to the general public, which were sold at counters. “Typically, between 40 and 50 percent of the tickets distributed to the districts remain unsold. This time, we’ve received back roughly 100 tickets, Mr. Saikia continued.

The ACA Stadium in Guwahati can hold 39,500 people, but 1,500 of those are “dead seats” since they can’t see the pitch.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced on Thursday that all seats have been sold for the October 23 T20 World Cup match between India and Pakistan at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

According to the ICC, even extra standing room tickets were “snapped up within minutes of going on sale.”Over 500,000 tickets have reportedly been sold for the forthcoming major event in Australia, which begins next month, according to the international cricket organization.

Their first Super 12s match will feature a match between Pakistan and India.

In a statement, ICC stated that “an official re-sale site will be introduced closer to the event, where fans may swap tickets at face value.”

Player of the month: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced India’s star all-format batsman Shreyas Iyer and White Ferns all-rounder Amelia Kerr as the ICC Players of the Month for February 2022.  

In men’s category:

Shreyas Iyer has received the ICC Player of the Month award for his stellar performances during the home series against West Indies and Sri Lanka respectively last month. Shreyas Iyer did well in the T20 series against Sri Lanka and was named Player of the Series.

New Zealand all-rounder Amelia Kerr won the ICC Women’s Player of the Month award for February 2022. New Zealand’s 21-year-old all-rounder Amelia Kerr had a good run with both bat and ball during the home white-ball series against India. Kerr has been selected for the award ahead of fellow nominee Indian captain Mithali Raj and all-rounder Deepti Sharma.

21-year-old Amelia scored 353 runs in the series with the help of a century and a half-century. During this, his average was 117. He was also impressed with his leg-spin bowling and took seven wickets in the series.
