This day took on additional significance because it was the formal inauguration of India's Election Commission, set up on January 25, 1950. Importance of National Voters Day Promoting Voter Education:- National Voters' Day is a place to foster voter education and awareness. Youth Engagement:- The day is particularly directed at the youth, who are encouraged to register as voters and join in active voting. Inclusivity:- The spirit of National Voters' Day is inclusiveness and equality in the democratic process. It urges people of all backgrounds--no matter what their caste, creed, or sex- to use the right to vote they possess. The registration process is simplified by setting up booths across the country. Distribution of Voter ID Cards:- Many states distribute Voter ID cards to new voters on National Voters' Day. This symbolic act signifies their formal entry into the electoral process.
