Vice Admiral Biswajit Dasgupta is the recipient of the Ati Vishisht Seva Medal and Vishisht Seva Medal for distinguished service.
Vice Admiral Biswajit Dasgupta, AVSM, YSM, VSM took over as Chief of Staff, Eastern Naval Command (ENC), Visakhapatnam on 12 June 2020. Vice Admiral Biswajit Dasgupta replaces Admiral SN Ghoramde, who is the outgoing Chief of Staff. Transfer as Controller Personnel Service at Unified Headquarters, Ministry of Defense (Navy), New Delhi.
Vice Admiral Biswajit Dasgupta is an alumnus of the National Defense Academy. In 1985, he was commissioned into the Indian Navy. He is an expert in navigation and direction. He has commanded 4 frontline vessels including INS Nishank, INS Karamuk, INS Tabar and INS Virat.
