Railways is preparing to run a large number of trains to fasten the products of farmers from one place to another place in the country. The Railway Ministry has purchased a fleet of refrigerator bogies from the Kapurthala Rail Coach Factory. The capacity of a refrigerator parcel van is 17 tons.

Indian Railways plans to purchase 98 refrigerator rail containers in the future. Railways has also prepared a project for loading-unloading of fruits and vegetables. Soon after the announcement of the Rail Agriculture Scheme in the budget, the Ministry of Railways has started working on it.
