Eminent historian Hari Shankar Vasudevan dies (COVID – 19)

Famous historian Hari Shankar Vasudevan passed away due to COVID-19. He is also internationally known for his work on Russian and European history and Indo-Russian relations.
(प्रसिद्ध  इतिहासकार हरि शंकर वासुदेवन का COVID-19 के कारण निधन हो गया। उन्होंने अंतरराष्ट्रीय स्तर पर रूसी एवं यूरोपीय इतिहास और भारत-रूस संबंधों पर किए उनके काम के लिए भी जाना जाता है ।)

Hari Shankar Vasudevan is the author of these two books –

  • Shadows of Substance: Indo-Russian Trade and Military-Technical Cooperation (2010)
  •  Footsteps of Afanasii Nikitin: Travels through Eurasia and India in the Early 21st Century (2015) 

He was a distinguished scholar, UGC Emeritus Professor of the Department of History and Sugar at the University of Calcutta, as well as a former director of the Maulana Abul Kalam Azad Institute of Asian Studies, an autonomous body under the Ministry of Culture, Government of India.
( वह प्रतिष्ठित विद्वान, कलकत्ता विश्वविद्यालय में इतिहास और चीनी विभाग के यूजीसी एमेरिटस प्रोफेसर होने के साथ-साथ भारत सरकार के संस्कृति मंत्रालय के तहत एक स्वायत्त निकाय मौलाना अबुल कलाम आजाद इंस्टीट्यूट ऑफ एशियन स्टडीज के पूर्व निदेशक थे।)
