| The navy’s PPE kits have been tested and approved by the Institute of Nuclear Medicine and Allied Sciences (INMAS), which is a laboratory of the Defence Research and Development Organisation.(INDIAN NAVY.) |
The Indian Navy has designed a new PPE kit “Navrakshak” with innovative breathable fabric. This PPE kit will provide health workers working in combat with the COVID-19 epidemic compared to PPE wearing multilevel cover, which treat patients in hot and humid conditions for 12–12 hours.
The breathability of this material can be understood in such a way that it has the ability to allow water vapor to escape and prevent water from entering. This PPE kit is made by Surgeon Lieutenant Commander Arnab Ghosh, Naval Medical Specialist of the Innovation Cell of the Institute of Naval Medicine in Mumbai.
Comfort characteristics of the material depend on their ability to transmit water and vapor from the body and prevent the formation of liquid on the skin. PPE has passed synthetic blood entry resistance test 6/6 (as per the Government of India minimum 16/3 and above ISO 16603 standard) certified for mass production and used in clinical COVID-19 conditions.
