NASA’s WFIRST Hubble Telescope was renamed astronomer Nancy Grace Roman

NASA has renamed the Next Generation Space Telescope (WFIRST) to launch in 2025 in honor of Nancy Grace Roman, the first chief astronomer of the US Space Agency.

(नासा ने 2025 में लॉन्च करने के लिए अगली पीढ़ी के स्पेस टेलीस्कोप (डब्ल्यूएफआईआरएसटी) का नाम बदलकर अमेरिकी अंतरिक्ष एजेंसी के पहले मुख्य खगोल विज्ञानी नैन्सी ग्रेस रोमन के सम्मान में रखा है.)

NASA has replaced its next-generation space telescope – the Wide-Field Infrared Survey Telescope (WFIRST), after the space agency’s first chief astronomer, Nancy Grace Roman. The Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope or the Roman Space Telescope will be ready for launch in 2025, which is set.

(अंतरिक्ष एजेंसी के पहले प्रमुख खगोल विज्ञानी नैन्सी ग्रेस रोमन के बाद नासा ने अपनी अगली पीढ़ी के स्पेस टेलीस्कोप- वाइड-फील्ड इन्फ्रारेड सर्वे टेलीस्कोप (WFIRST) को बदला गया है। नैन्सी ग्रेस रोमन स्पेस टेलीस्कोप या रोमन स्पेस टेलीस्कोप 2025 में लॉन्च के लिए तैयार किया जायेगा जो की तय है।)

NASA’s first Chief Astronomer Nancy Grace Roman led the way in space telescopes focused on the wider universe. She is also known as the mother of the Hubble Space Telescope, which launched 30 years ago.

NASA Administrator Jim Bridenstein said that it was because of Nancy Grace Roman’s leadership and vision that NASA became a leader in astrophysics and launched the world’s most powerful space telescope, the Hubble. He said he could not think of a better name for WFIRST, which would be the successor to the Hubble and Webb Space Telescopes.
