Yoga, a set of physical exercises that make the mind calm and energetic and benefit the body, yoga originated in ancient India.
(योग, शारीरिक व्यायाम का एक सेट जो मन को शांत व ऊर्जावान बनता है और शरीर को लाभ पहुंचाता है, योग प्राचीन भारत में उत्पन्न हुआ।)

History of Yoga Day: 

The United Nations General Assembly recognised June 21 as International Yoga Day in 2014. People acknowledge the physical and spiritual benefits of Yoga and observe this day across countries since June 2015.

On the 6th Yoga Day, Prime Minister Modi explained the benefits of yoga to the citizens of the country and motivated them to include yoga in their daily lives.
