Kiran M. Shaw wins EY World Entrepreneur of the Year 2020 title
Kiran Mazumdar Shaw, executive chairman of Biocon Limited, has been given the title of EY World Entrepreneur of the Year 2020. He has been selected for this title from 46 awardees from 41 countries and among the other contestants of the title. She is the first Indian entrepreneur to win the award, as well as the third Indian to win the title in 20 years of history.
Apart from this, Kiran is the second woman in the world to receive the title after Olivia Lum of Singapore’s Hyflux Limited in 2011, the other winners of India who won the title are Uday Kotak (2014) of Kotak Mahindra Bank and co-founder of Infosys Ltd. The founder is NR Narayana Murthy (2005).
