Kiran Mazumdar Shaw, executive chairman of Biocon Limited, has been given the title of EY World Entrepreneur of the Year 2020. He has been selected for this title from 46 awardees from 41 countries and among the other contestants of the title. She is the first Indian entrepreneur to win the award, as well as the third Indian to win the title in 20 years of history.

The Confederation of Asian Football has recommended India to host the 2022 Women’s Asian Cup. This is the second time since 1979 when the tournament will be held in India. As the host, India will be automatically eligible for the tournament.
A 13-year-old girl from Tamil Nadu, M Netra has been named ‘Goodwill Ambassador for the Poor’ by the United Nations Association for Development and Peace. The Deep Submergence Rescue Vehicle (DSRV) Complex, which performs deepwater rescue operations, has been unveiled at the Eastern Naval Command (ENC) in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. The complex is designed to accommodate the new submarine rescue system that is included and to be ready for rescue-in-the-state and to store DSRV assets. The Indian Navy has incorporated two such systems which are helpful in providing protection cover to submarines on the eastern and western coast of India.
