About Godan Nyay Yojana:
- Under the Godhan Nyay Yojana, the Government of Chhattisgarh will purchase cow dung at the rate of Rs 2 per kg from cattle herders. This scheme will convert cow dung into a beneficial commodity.
- The scheme aims to make cow rearing in the state economically profitable and prevent open grazing, as well as solve the problem of stray cattle on the roads and in urban areas.
- Women’s self-help groups will then prepare vermicompost, which will later be sold to farmers at the rate of Rs 8 per kg, while cow dung will also be used for other products.
