RBI: Reserve Bank released Financial Stability Report, July 2020

Financial Stability Report July 2020: The Reserve Bank of India has released the 21st issue of the Financial Stability Report. This refers to the collective assessment of the Financial Stability and Development Council- FSDC related to the Financial Stability Subcommittee and the Financial Stability Risks. This report also discusses the persistence of the financial system in the context of contemporary issues related to the development and regulation of the financial sector.




Home Minister Amit Shah launches Tree Planting Campaign in New Delhi

New Delhi: Recently “Tree Plantation Campaign” has been started by Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah. Ministry of Coal along with all coal / PSUs has carried out this campaign. Under the “Tree Plantation Campaign”, large scale plantations will be done in coal, lignite PSUs, colonies, offices and other suitable areas to promote “tree planting by society”.

Indian Navy: largest solar power plant commissioned at Ezhimala

Recently the largest solar power plant at the Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala has been commissioned by Vice Admiral Anil Kumar Chawla. It is a 3 MW solar power plant set up in line with the Government of India’s ‘National Solar Mission’ initiative which aims to achieve 100 GW of solar power by 2022.




India successfully tests ATGM ‘Dhruvastra’

Recently India has successfully completed flight tests of indigenously developed anti-tank guided missile ‘Dhruvastra’. The flight test was conducted from the Integrated Test Range at Chandipur, Odisha. ‘Dhruvastra’ is an anti-tank guided missile (ATGM) developed by the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO). It is a variant of the ‘Nag Helina’ helicopter.




Toonz Media Award will be given to Arnab Chaudhary

The ‘Legend of Animation’ award, recently launched by Toonz Media Group (TMG) under the Animation Masters Summit (AMS) 2020- Digital Edition, will be posthumously awarded to legendary animation director Arnab Choudhury. The award is being given to him for his invaluable contribution to India’s animation and entertainment industry.




India Business Council to host 45th India Ideas Summit 2020

Recently, the 45th India Ideas Summit 2020 will be hosted by the Indian Business Council on July 22. The summit will discuss the future partnerships and globalization trends of India and the US, leaders in trade and government, issues of trade and investment and the post-Kovid-19 working style. This year’s conference focuses on “Building a Better Future”.

ICC T20 World Cup postponed till 2022

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has recently announced an official announcement to postpone the men’s T20 World Cup to be held in Australia in October-November this year due to COVID-19.




UAE launches its first MARS mission HOPE


“Hope” has launched its first “Mars” mission by the United Arab Emirates. With the help of this mission, the UAE aims to provide complete information about the Martian environment by studying daily and changing seasonal conditions for the first time. Japan’s Tanegashima Space Center is expected to enter Mars orbit by February 2021, after a seven-month voyage of unmanned “Hope” Mars mission launched to the red planet at 1:58 am (UAE time). It is also the 50th anniversary of the integration of the Emirates alliance.




Ossouka Raponda becomes Gabons first woman PM


Recently Rose Christiane Ossouka Raponda has been appointed as Gabon’s first female Prime Minister. She is the country’s 12th PM and will replace Julien Nkoghe Bekale. He has achieved this position at the age of 56. 


Consumer Protection Act enacted in India, 2019


Consumer Protection Act, 2019: The Consumer Protection Act, 2019 has come into force in India from 20 July 2020. In this, the Consumer Protection Act, 1986 has been changed. The act has been introduced primarily to provide protection to buyers not only from traditional vendors but also from new e-commerce retailers / forums. This new Act will empower consumers and help protect their rights through its various notified rules and provisions.
