Mustafa Adeeb becomes the new Prime Minister of Lebanon

Recently, Lebanese Ambassador to Germany Mustapha Adib has been appointed as the new Prime Minister of the troubled Lebanon. Adeeb, who has been the Berlin envoy to Beirut since 2013, belongs to a small Sunni party headed by former Prime Minister Najib Mikati.

Prime Minister Hassan Diab’s government submitted its resignation to the President just days after the explosion in Lebanon. President Michel Aun had asked Lebanese ambassador Adeeb in Germany to form a new government after securing 90 votes in the 128-member parliament.
