Male employees can also take leave to look after children, Central government

The central government has also entitled male employees to child care leave. This decision has been taken following the reforms suggested by the Department of Personnel and Training (DOPT). In order to make the life of government employees easier, the central government has taken this step. Union Minister Jitendra Singh said that the provision of Child Care Leave (CCL) is only for male employees who are playing the role of both parents.This may also include employees who are unmarried or widower or divorced.

Earlier, the maximum time limit of the child was set at 22 years.
