World Post Day: Every year on October 9, World Post Day is celebrated all over the world. The purpose of this day is to create awareness about the role of the postal sector in the daily life of the people and its contribution to the social and economic development of the countries.
(विश्व डाक दिवस : प्रति वर्ष 9 अक्टूबर को विश्व भर में विश्व डाक दिवस के रूप में मनाया जाता है। इस दिवस का उद्देश्य लोगों के रोज़मर्रा के जीवन में डाक क्षेत्र की भूमिका और देशों के सामाजिक और आर्थिक विकास में इसके योगदान के बारे में जागरूकता पैदा करना है।)
History of World Post Day: World Post Day is celebrated on 9 October each year to commemorate the anniversary of the establishment of the Universal Postal Union in 1874 at the Swiss Capitol, Bern. It was declared World Postal Day in 1969 by the UPU Congress held in Tokyo, Japan. Since then, countries around the world participate in this annual event. Today many countries post new postal products and services are launched or programs are organized to promote it.
(विश्व डाक दिवस का इतिहास: विश्व डाक दिवस प्रत्येक वर्ष 9 अक्टूबर को स्विस कैपिटल, बर्न में 1874 में यूनिवर्सल पोस्टल यूनियन की स्थापना की वर्षगांठ को याद करने के लिए मनाया जाता है। 1969 में टोक्यो, जापान में आयोजित यूपीयू कांग्रेस द्वारा इसे विश्व डाक दिवस घोषित किया गया था। तब से, दुनिया भर के देश इस वार्षिक समारोह में भाग लेते हैं। आज के दिन कई देशों में पोस्ट नए डाक उत्पादों और सेवाओं को लॉन्च किया जाता है अथवा इसे बढ़ावा देने के लिए कार्यक्रमों आयोजित किया जाता हैं।)
