Gyanendra Ningombam of Manipur elected first president of Hockey India from Northeast
Recently, Gyanendra Ningombam of Manipur has been elected unopposed as the President of Hockey India. The governing body of Hockey, Hockey India held its 10th Hockey India Congress and elections on November 6, 2020, where the newly elected President and Vice President of the body officially assumed office. Nyingombam, who has been elected as the chairman for the next two years, had given his resignation from Mohammad Mushtaq Ahmed in July 2020, after which he took over the responsibility of acting president.
(हाल ही मे, मणिपुर के ज्ञानेंद्र निंगोम्बम को हॉकी इंडिया के अध्यक्ष के तौर पर निर्विरोध चुना गया है | हॉकी के शासी निकाय, हॉकी इंडिया ने 6 नवंबर, 2020 को अपनी 10वीं हॉकी इंडिया कांग्रेस और चुनाव आयोजित किए, जहां निकाय के नवनिर्वाचित अध्यक्ष और उपाध्यक्ष ने आधिकारिक तौर पर अपने पदभार ग्रहण किया | निंगोम्बम, जिन्हें अगले दो साल के लिए अध्यक्ष के तौर पर चुना गया है, उन्होने मोहम्मद मुश्ताक अहमद से जुलाई, 2020 में अपना इस्तीफा देने दिया था, उसके बाद कार्यकारी अध्यक्ष की जिम्मेदारी संभाली थी |)
