“Sagar Kavach”, a two-day joint coastal security exercise that began in Odisha
Recently, Sagar Kavach, a joint coastal security exercise lasting two days on the Paradip coast of Odisha, has started. The exercise is being carried out with the joint effort of the Odisha state and West Bengal governments.

About “Sagar Kavach”:
- The main objective of this exercise is to practice on the banks of Paradip this year like every year after 26/11 Mumbai Hummel. The exercises have to be done by forces to stop attacks like Mumbai attacks.
- More than 10 such departments including Indian Navy, Indian Coast Guard, Odisha Police, local fishermen, forest department and port marine department have participated in joint exercises.
- This will last for two days, in which Red and Green teams will be formed to stop the attacks. This year’s exercise for coastal security was named “Sagar Kavach”.
A two-day joint coastal security exercise, ‘Sagar Kavach’ was launched at Paradip Coast. It was a joint effort by Odisha and West Bengal governments.
Indian Navy, Indian Coast Guard, Port Marine Department, Forest Department local fishermen and Odisha Police are part of the exercise.
