Khelo India Ice Hockey Tournament inaugurated in Kargil

Recently, the Khelo India Ice Hockey Tournament started in Chiketan, Ladakh on 07 January. This will be the first time when the women’s team of Chiketan participated in the Khelo India Games being played in Kargil district. The tournament has 13 teams participating from different villages in Chiketan, including 11 men’s teams and 2 women’s teams.

The Khelo India Ice Hockey Tournament was inaugurated by SDM Shakar Chiketan and Chief Guest of the event Kacho Asghar Ali Khan in the presence of ZPEO Chikatan Ghulam Rasool as well as in-charge Police Post-Chiktan.

Ghulam Rasool said that the purpose of organizing such an event by the UT administration at the zonal level is to popularize the game throughout UT Ladakh so that the talents from far-flung areas get a platform to prove themselves.

हाल ही मे 07 जनवरी को लद्दाख के चिकटन में खेलो इंडिया आइस हॉकी टूर्नामेंट का आयोजन आरंभ हुआ। यह पहला मौका होगा, जब चिकटन की महिला टीम कारगिल जिले में खेले जा रहे खेलो इंडिया गेम्स में भाग लिया। टूर्नामेंट में चिकटन के विभिन्न गांवों से भाग लेने वाली 13 टीमें हैं, जिसमें 11 पुरुष टीम और 2 महिला टीमें शामिल हैं।

खेलो इंडिया आइस हॉकी टूर्नामेंट का उद्घाटन एसडीएम शकर चिकटन और आयोजन के मुख्य अतिथि काचो असगर अली खान ने ZPEO चिकटन गुलाम रसूल के साथ-साथ प्रभारी पुलिस पोस्ट-चिकटन की मौजूदगी में किया।

गुलाम रसूल ने कहा कि जोनल स्तर पर यूटी प्रशासन द्वारा इस तरह के आयोजन का उद्देश्य पूरे यूटी लद्दाख में खेल को लोकप्रिय बनाना है ताकि दूर-दराज के क्षेत्रों की प्रतिभाओं को खुद को साबित करने के लिए एक मंच मिले।
