Manish Kumar is India’s first COVID-19 vaccine recipient
Recently, on January 16, 2021, PM Modi flagged off the nationwide vaccination campaign, after which the sanitation worker in Delhi, Manish Kumar was the first to receive the COVID-19 vaccine in India. Manish Kumar was injected at AIIMS in Delhi, where Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan was also present.
On 16 January, PM Modi launched a nationwide vaccine campaign through videoconferencing and dedicated 2 Made in India vaccines to the people of India.
The most important thing about India’s vaccination program is that people who need the vaccine will be vaccinated first. Our doctors, nurses, medical and paramedical staff, sanitation workers in hospitals – whether it is private or the first officer to receive hospital vaccinations are the same.

(भारत का टीकाकरण कार्यक्रम की सबसे महत्वपूर्ण बात है कि जिन लोगों को वैक्सीन की जरूरत है, उन्हें पहले टीका लगाया जाएगा | हमारे डॉक्टर, नर्स, मेडिकल और पैरामेडिकल स्टाफ, अस्पतालों में सफाई कर्मचारी – चाहे यह निजी हो या अस्पताल के टीकाकरण प्राप्त करने के प्रथम अधिकारी वे ही हैं |)
