Self-Reliance is Hindi word of the year 2020
Recently, the world’s leading dictionary publisher Oxford Languages selected ‘Self-reliance’ as the Hindi Word of the Year 2020.
The Oxford Hindi Word of the Year is chosen to reflect a word or expression that reflects the ethos, mood or preservation of the past year, and lasting potential as a word of cultural significance.
Aatamnirbharta- means ‘self-reliance’ because the term was chosen because it “validated the day-to-day achievements of the countless Indians who dealt with and survived the perils of a pandemic.”

(आत्मनिर्भरता – का अर्थ है ‘self-reliance’ है इस शब्द को इसलिए चुना गया क्योंकि यह उन असंख्य भारतीयों की दिन-प्रतिदिन की उपलब्धियों को दर्शाता है जो इस महामारी के जोखिमों से निपटते और बचते रहे”|)
