Naureen Hassan becomes the first VP and COO of the Federal Reserve Bank
Recently, Indian-origin Naureen Hassan was appointed as the first Vice President and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the New York-based Federal Reserve Bank by the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System. She will take up the post from March 15, 2021.
Nourin Hassan’s parents immigrated to New York from India. Naureen Hassan has 25 years of experience in the financial services industry with expertise in strategy, digital transformation, cybersecurity and regulatory / risk management.
With the role of the vice president and chief operating officer of the Federal Reserve Bank, Hassan will become the second-highest-ranking official of the New York Fed, as well as an alternate voting member of the Federal Open Market Committee. Prior to this, she was the Chief Digital Officer of Morgan Stanley Wealth Management.
