Recently, Mahamadou Issoufou, the President of Niger, has won the world’s largest Leadership Prize, the “Ibrahim Prize for Achievement in African Leadership-2020”, with a cash prize of $ 5 million. He is the sixth winner of the Ibrahim Prize launched in 2006 by the institution of Sudanese billionaire Mo Ibrahim to promote good governance in the world’s poorest continent.

69-year-old Isoufu is leaving the Nigerian presidency in April 2021 after two terms. He first took office in 2011 and was re-elected in 2016.
