Recently, India’s first female cricket commentator Chandra Naidu passed away at the age of 88. She was the daughter of the country’s first Test captain CK Naidu. Chandra Naidu made his first commentary in a match between the national champions Bombay and MCC in Indore in 1977.
Chandra Naidu’s nephew and former domestic cricketer Vijay Naidu said that his aunt breathed his last at his house in Manoramganj here. He said that Chandra Naidu had been struggling with age-related ailments for a long time and could not walk because of his illness.
Former BCCI secretary Sanjay Jagdale expressed condolences on the death of Chandra Naidu, saying that she was the pioneer of cricket commentary in the women’s world of the country and contributed to the advancement of women’s cricket in Madhya Pradesh.
Chandra Naidu wrote a book titled ‘CK Nayudu: A Daughter Remembers’ on his late father CK Naidu.
(हाल ही मे, भारत की पहली महिला क्रिकेट कमेंटेटर चंद्रा नायडू (Chandra Naidu) का 88 वर्ष की उम्र में निधन हो गया है| वह देश के पहले टेस्ट कप्तान सीके नायडू (CK Naidu) की बेटी थीं| चंद्रा नायडू ने अपनी पहली कमेन्ट्री राष्ट्रीय चैंपियन बॉम्बे और इंदौर में एमसीसी के बीच 1977 में एक मैच मे की थी|)
(चंद्रा नायडू के भतीजे और पूर्व घरेलू क्रिकेटर विजय नायडू ने बताया कि उनकी मौसी ने यहां मनोरमागंज स्थित अपने घर में आखिरी सांस ली| उन्होंने बताया कि चंद्रा नायडू लम्बे समय से उम्र संबंधी व्याधियों से जूझ रही थीं और बीमार होने के कारण चल-फिर नहीं पाती थीं|)
(बीसीसीआई के पूर्व सचिव संजय जगदाले ने चंद्रा नायडू के निधन पर शोक जताते हुए कहा कि वह देश के महिला जगत में क्रिकेट कॉमेंट्री की पुरोधा थीं और उन्होंने अपने मध्यप्रदेश में महिला क्रिकेट को आगे बढ़ाने में योगदान दिया था|)
