Facebook-owned messaging app WhatsApp has appointed Paresh B Lal as India’s Grievance Officer. WhatsApp has updated the details on its website on how to contact Mr. Lal, as under the IT law, social media companies are required to display the names and other details of their grievance officers on their website.
WhatsApp has stated that to contact the Grievance Officer, please send an email. Write your complaint or your query in this email and also do electronic signature. If you are contacting us about a specific account, please enter your phone number in full international format along with the country code
According to the information, the Grievance Officer will have to take the complaint within 24 hours. The complaint has to be disposed of within 15 days. According to the new digital rule, objectionable content will have to be removed in 36 hours. Content containing pornography and nudity will have to be removed from the platform within 24 hours.

फेसबुक के स्वामित्व वाले मैसेजिंग ऐप व्हाट्सएप ने परेश बी लाल (Paresh B Lal) को भारत का शिकायत अधिकारी नियुक्त किया गया. व्हाट्सएप ने अपनी वेबसाइट पर विवरण अपडेट किया है कि श्री परेसी बी लाल से कैसे संपर्क किया जाए, क्योंकि आईटी कानून के तहत, सोशल मीडिया कंपनियों को अपनी वेबसाइट पर अपने शिकायत अधिकारियों के नाम और अन्य विवरण प्रदर्शित करने की आवश्यकता होती है.
वॉट्सऐप ने बताया है कि शिकायत अधिकारी से संपर्क करने के लिए, कृपया ईमेल भेजें. इस ईमेल में अपनी शिकायत या अपना सवाल लिखें और इलेक्ट्रॉनिक सिग्नेचर भी करें. अगर आप किसी खास अकाउंट के बारे में हमसे संपर्क कर रहे हैं, तो कृपया राष्ट्र कोड के साथ पूरे अंतर्राष्ट्रीय फ़ॉर्मेट में अपना फ़ोन नंबर लिखें
जानकारी के मुताबिक ग्रीवांस ऑफिसर को 24 घंटे के अंदर कंप्लेन्ट लेना होगा. शिकायत का निपटारा 15 दिन के भीतर करना होगा. नए डिजिटल नियम के अनुसार आपत्तिजनक कंटेंट को 36 घंटे में हटाना होगा. पोर्नोग्राफी और न्यूडिटी वाले कंटेंट को 24 घंटे में प्लेटफॉर्म से हटाना होगा.
