India First Maritime Arbitration Center to be Built in Gandhinagar
Recently, Gujarat Maritime University has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the International Financial Services Center Authority (IFSCA) at GIFT City for setting up the Gujarat International Maritime Arbitration Center (GIMAC).
GIMAC will be the first centre in India to administer arbitration and brokerage proceedings for disputes relating to the maritime and shipping sector. It will be part of a maritime cluster that will be set up by the Gujarat Maritime Board (GMB) at GIFT City in Gandhinagar.
The idea of creating a world-class arbitration centre focused on maritime and shipping disputes will help resolve commercial and financial conflicts between entities operating in India. There are more than 35 arbitration centres in India. However, none of them is specifically related to the maritime sector.
(हाल ही मे, गुजरात मैरीटाइम यूनिवर्सिटी ने गुजरात इंटरनेशनल मैरीटाइम आर्बिट्रेशन सेंटर (GIMAC) की स्थापना के लिए गिफ्ट सिटी में अंतर्राष्ट्रीय वित्तीय सेवा केंद्र प्राधिकरण (IFSCA) के साथ एक समझौता ज्ञापन (MoU) पर हस्ताक्षर किए हैं|)
(GIMAC समुद्री और शिपिंग क्षेत्र से संबंधित विवादों के लिए मध्यस्थता और दलाली कार्यवाही का प्रबंधन करने वाला भारत का पहला केंद्र होगा| यह एक समुद्री क्लस्टर का हिस्सा होगा जिसे गुजरात मैरीटाइम बोर्ड (GMB) द्वारा गांधीनगर के गिफ्ट सिटी में स्थापित किया जायगा|)
(समुद्री और शिपिंग विवादों पर केंद्रित एक विश्व स्तरीय मध्यस्थता केंद्र बनाने का यह विचार भारत में परिचालन करने वाली संस्थाओं के बीच वाणिज्यिक और वित्तीय संघर्षों को हल करने में मदद करेगा| भारत में 35 से अधिक मध्यस्थता केंद्र हैं| हालांकि, उनमें से कोई भी विशेष रूप से समुद्री क्षेत्र से संबंधित नहीं है|)
