The government submitted a report in this regard to the High Court, stating that after amending the Karnataka Civil Services (General Recruitment) Rules, 1977, a notification was issued.
Specifies one percent reservation for the third gender in all general as well as reserved categories. Whenever a notification inviting applications for government jobs is published, the ‘Others’ column should be added along with the male and female columns.
The notification underlined that there would be no discrimination against transgenders in the process of selection. In case of non-availability of transgender candidates, jobs will be given to males or females of the same category as mentioned in the notification note.
