11th P8I aircraft found in Indian Navy: Recently, the Indian Navy has got the 11th anti-submarine fighter aircraft P-8I. Which is manufactured by the US-based aeronautical company Boeing. Naval officials said that these patrol aircraft are an integral part of the Indian Navy’s fleet.
The Defense Ministry had signed an agreement in 2009 for eight P-8I aircraft. In 2016, the Navy signed a deal for four additional P-8I aircraft. This is the third aircraft to be received by the Defense Ministry as part of a 2016 deal for four additional aircraft, a statement issued on October 18 said.
The reconnaissance aircraft is an integral part of the Indian Navy’s fleet and has flown over 31,000 hours since its induction in 2013. The Indian Navy received the ninth P-8I aircraft in November last year and the 10th P-8I aircraft in July this year.
Equipped with maritime reconnaissance and anti-submarine combat capabilities, the aircraft has also been deployed to assist in disaster relief and humanitarian operations. American company Boeing has equipped these aircraft with Mark-54 torpedoes, Mark-84 depth charges and lethal bombs to hunt submarines.

हाल ही मे, भारतीय नौसेना को पनडुब्बी रोधी 11वां लड़ाकू विमान पी-8आई मिला है| जिसका निर्माण अमेरिका स्थित वैमानिकी कंपनी बोइंग ने किया है| नौसेना अधिकारियों ने बताया कि ये गश्ती विमान भारतीय नौसेना के बेड़े का अभिन्न हिस्सा हैं|

टोही विमान भारतीय नौसेना के बेड़े का एक अभिन्न अंग है और साल 2013 में इसे शामिल किए जाने के बाद से अभी तक 31,000 घंटों से अधिक की उड़ान भर चुका है| भारतीय नौसेना को पिछले साल नवंबर में नौवां पी-8आई विमान और इस साल जुलाई में 10वां पी-8आई विमान मिला था|
समुद्री टोही और पनडुब्बी रोधी लड़ाकू क्षमताओं से लैस इस विमान को आपदा राहत और मानवीय अभियानों में मदद के लिए भी तैनात किया गया है| अमेरिकी कंपनी बोइंग ने पनडुब्बियों का शिकार करने के लिए इन विमानों को मार्क-54 तारपीडो, मार्क-84 डेप्थ चार्ज और घातक बमों से लैस किया है|
हिन्द महासागर क्षेत्र में चोक पॉइंट्स पर निगरानी रखने के लिए भारत ने साल 2012 में अमेरिका से 12 पी-8 आई समुद्री निगरानी और पनडुब्बी रोधी विमानों का सौदा 2.2 बिलियन अमेरिकी डॉलर में किया गया था| इनमें से 8 टोही विमानों की आपूर्ति 2013 में ही कर दी गई थी|
