National Legal Services Day is celebrated in the country on 9th November 2020. Its objective is to provide free legal aid to the weaker sections of society.

“National Legal Services Day” is celebrated every year on 09 November by all the legal services authorities to commemorate the enactment of the Legal Services Authorities Act 1987. The Legal Services Authorization Act 1987 was passed on 11 October 1987, while this Act came into force on 9 November 1995.

Purpose: This day is celebrated to make people aware of the various provisions under the Legal Services Authority Act and the Rights of the litigants. This provision emphasizes providing free legal services to the weaker and backward sections of society.

The National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) was constituted under the Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987 on 5 December 1995 to provide free legal services to the weaker sections of the society and organize Lok Adalats for amicable settlement of disputes.

प्रति वर्ष 09 नवंबर को कानूनी सेवा प्राधिकरण अधिनियम 1987 के अधिनियमन के उपलक्ष्य में सभी कानूनी सेवा प्राधिकरणों द्वारा “राष्ट्रीय कानूनी सेवा दिवस” मनाया जाता है| 11 अक्टूबर 1987 को कानूनी सेवा प्राधिकरण अधिनियम 1987 पारित किया गया था, जबकि यह अधिनियम 9 नवंबर 1995 को लागू हुआ था|

उदेश्य: यह दिवस कानूनी सेवा प्राधिकरण अधिनियम और वादियों के अधिकार के तहत विभिन्न प्रावधानों के बारे में लोगों को जागरूक करने के लिए मनाया जाता है| ये प्रावधान समाज के कमजोर व पिछड़े वर्ग को कानूनी सेवाएँ मुफ्त मे प्रधान करने पर ज़ोर देता है|

राष्ट्रीय कानूनी सेवा प्राधिकरण (NALSA) का गठन कानूनी सेवा प्राधिकरण अधिनियम, 1987 के तहत 5 दिसंबर 1995 को समाज के कमजोर वर्गों को मुफ्त कानूनी सेवाएं प्रदान करने और विवादों के सौहार्दपूर्ण समाधान के लिए लोक अदालतों का आयोजन करने के लिए किया गया था|
